All of this performance work is older, foundational performance art…oldies but goodies, I guess you might say!  It would be very difficult for me to choose just 10 performance art pieces for a list such as this one, and I would have chosen different pieces (sometimes by the same artists listed).  The chosen word ‘intense’ is quite subjective and does not really mean anything, and the Huffington Post list contains, in my opinion, ‘shocking’ or ‘disturbing’ pieces. 

That is Karen Finley, one of my favorite performance artists of all time.  She’s super, and I like her boots.
