Colette Justine
I did not know until recently that the one and only Colette (aka Colette Justine) was a DAAD fellow and lived and worked in Berlin from 1984-1986. She produced work here at The Bethanien, which is super close to my flat. While in Berlin, she continued to play with identity and role-playing, taking on the famous “Mata Hari” as a character.

(Colette/Mata Hari with her potatoes at The Berlin Wall.)
The full title of the series of work, which included photographs, an art band, installations, painted works, collages, and living environments, was Mata Hari and the Stolen Potatoes.
If you don’t know Colette Justine, you should.
